Beetaloo Digital takes step forward on infrastructure planning
The Beetaloo opportunity is not just about gas in the ground. It is about the infrastructure, investment and new industries the Territory can build around it.
As reported in the NT News, DMBG member
Beetaloo Energy Australia has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with
Australian Gas Infrastructure Group to assess the gas transportation, processing and related infrastructure needed to support the proposed
Beetaloo Digital development at Weddell.
The work includes design and planning for a potential 750-kilometre pipeline linking the Carpentaria Gas Project with the Darwin region.
This is not yet a commitment to construct, but it is a tangible step, bringing specialist infrastructure capability to the table and working through what would be required to move the proposal towards a final investment decision.
It also sharpens the wider Territory question: what infrastructure, workforce, housing and services will we need to be ready. And how do we ensure Territorians secure the greatest possible benefit if development proceeds?
Congratulations to
Alex Underwood and the Beetaloo Energy Australia team on reaching this milestone.
