McArthur River Mine (MRM) is one of the Northern Territory’s most significant and enduring resource operations, located near Borroloola in the Gulf Region. In continuous operation since 1995, MRM is recognised as one of the world’s largest zinc and lead deposits and a major contributor to the Territory’s economy.

The operation produces zinc, lead and silver critical to global supply chains, while supporting more than 1,100 jobs, with over 70 per cent held by Territorians, and maintaining a strong focus on Indigenous employment and workforce development.

Through substantial local procurement, ongoing capital investment, and long-standing community partnerships, including the Community Benefits Trust, MRM continues to underpin economic activity and regional development across the Gulf, delivering sustained benefits to local communities and the broader Northern Territory.
