DMBG Chair Steve Margetic Awarded Member of the Order of Australia

There are few people who have contributed more to the Northern Territory's development over the past four decades than Steve Margetic.

Today, the Darwin Major Business Group is delighted to congratulate Steve on his appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2026 King's Birthday Honours.

From helping build some of the Territory's most significant projects, to supporting community organisations, mentoring future leaders and championing economic development, Steve has always believed in the potential of the Northern Territory and the people who call it home.

Those who know Steve understand that his contribution has never been about recognition. It has been about creating opportunities, backing people, solving problems and leaving the Territory stronger for future generations.

As Chair of DMBG, Steve continues to bring that same passion and commitment to advocating for policies and initiatives that support investment, jobs, industry growth and the long-term prosperity of Northern Australia.

This honour recognises a lifetime of achievement, leadership and service, but perhaps most importantly, it recognises a person who has consistently put the Territory first.
