DMBG supports measures to reduce business costs
The Darwin Major Business Group welcomes measures by the Australian Government that reduce the cost and complexity of doing business, including making the
$20,000 instant asset write-off permanent.
For many Northern Territory businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises, practical measures that encourage investment and reduce red tape are positive steps.
At the same time, Territory businesses continue to face challenges that extend beyond tax settings. Workforce shortages, infrastructure constraints, rising operating costs, insurance pressures, housing availability and investment certainty all influence business confidence and the Territory's capacity for growth.
These broader issues are central to DMBG's Facing North initiative, which is developing practical Commonwealth policy proposals to strengthen Northern Australia's economy and unlock the Territory's full potential.
We welcome constructive Commonwealth initiatives wherever they arise and look forward to continuing to work with representatives from all sides of politics to advance policies that support business investment, productivity and long-term economic growth.
